Hinterstoder
World Cup, 40 kilometers of trails, and terrain from the valley up to 2 000 meters. One of the most athletic places in our calendar.
Why we go here
Hinterstoder is a resort where you can spend one day skiing calm technique and the next day putting together a proper athletic training session. It has a big vertical drop, a wide selection of runs, and an atmosphere that is not just about recreational skiing — the racing infrastructure is part of the resort’s DNA.
Loko view: when we want to combine volume, technique, and more athletic skiing in one camp, Hinterstoder makes a lot of sense.
Terrain at a glance
Officially, the resort has 40 km of pistes and you can usually ski from 600 to 2 000 m. This lets us choose between calmer sections for technique and demanding slopes for older and more experienced skiers.
The best-known one is Hannes Trinkl World Cup course. The very presence of a World Cup course says a lot about the character of the slope: changes in pitch, speed, and terrain that can reveal technical mistakes immediately.
What we can train here
- basic and advanced technique,
- slalom and giant slalom,
- working with speed and changes in pitch,
- longer runs and volume,
- more demanding race terrain for older skiers.
For children and racers
Hinterstoder also has children’s and practice areas, so it is not only for performance skiers. What makes it interesting for the club is that different performance groups can train at one resort without having to ski the same terrain all day.
In practice
The resort is compact and easy to reach from the A9 motorway. During a club training camp, however, we always keep an eye on the current allocation of training runs — Hinterstoder’s sporting character means that the best sections are often in demand from other clubs and teams as well.
