YEAR-ROUND PREPARATION

We train all year round

General athletic preparation, skates, running, cycling, climbing, and skiing in winter. The current weekly season schedule 2026/27 is Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

Indoor training in the gym

ZŠ Marcelyho / Drieňová · 17:00 – 18:30

Gym training focuses on general strength, dynamism, coordination, and agility in a playful way appropriate for children’s age.

We start with a quick warm-up and easy running. Then come circuit stations, BOSU and balance exercises, medicine balls, somersaults and gymnastic elements, a coordination ladder, jumps, slaloms, relays, monkey courses, and obstacle courses. Training ended with games like tag, fisherman, dodgeball, or football.

Specific exercises, number of repetitions, and difficulty are adjusted today to the age, group, and current training plan.

Training on inline skates

Park Jama · 17:00 – 18:30

Skates are an excellent complement to ski training. Training develops balance, coordination, changes of direction, footwork, and a feel for gliding.

Skating warm-up in pairs, or in a line, or laps on the track. This is followed by slaloms through gates, changes of direction on signal, relays, and various slalom course variations. The beginners had easier slaloms and monkey courses with changes of direction, braking, and starts.

A large part of the training consists of games and chases so that children naturally change speed and direction and gain confidence on skates. During the winter part of the year, the Thursday program moves to gymnastics or to the hall according to the club plan. In case of bad weather on Saturday, to the climbing hall.

Outdoor training on Koliba and Kamzík

Kamzík / Koliba · according to the program

Outdoor training is part of the dry ski preparation and complements gym training. The children are divided according to age and ability. Training combines running, sprints, uphill sprints, balance, strength, coordination, obstacles, stair runs, relays, and games (at the beginning as a warm-up and usually at the end of training).

Training usually starts with a warm-up and a running loop through the meadow and forest. Then came uphill sprints, jumps, stair runs, two-footed jumps and one-footed jumps, and an obstacle circuit with elements of balance, climbing on bars, jumps, pull-ups, and walking across a balance beam. The finish was dedicated to team relays, competitions, and games.
